Introduction

Scan any

popular code

format using a device camera to

search for the corresponding object in the system database.

The identified object will be

displayed on the screen

, allowing you to quickly preview and edit it, or locate it within the complete structure.

The system supports most QR codes and barcodes

(refer to the Supported Formats section below for a full list).

You don't need specific QR codes

; you can reuse

existing ones as long as the code property (

such as a number, text, or GUID)

from the code is stored

in one of the metadata fields of the object.

The system can

search any metadata field to match the object.

Configuration

No special configuration is required.

The scanner will read the text property from the code (

which can be any text, GUID, or numeric code) and

attempt to search for that code

based on the current Quick Search configuration. Therefore, the value present in the code should be stored as a metadata property on the object.

Please note

that if the code is not unique,

meaning multiple objects are matched, only the first match will be shown.

Process

To

initiate a

scanning process,

simply select the "SCAN" function from the main dashboard

.

 In case you are prompted,

kindly grant the application permission to access

your camera.

This access is necessary for scanning the code. 

Simply position the detection frame

over the code and patiently wait for the "vibration" that will

confirm the completion of the scan

Although the scanner is

highly sensitive, it

may need more light in

challenging lighting conditions.

You can activate the "flashlight" function

using the flashlight icon if necessary.

To cancel the scan,

simply use the X button.

Processing

Scanned Code

Upon recognizing the code

, a search panel will be

displayed.

Upon completion of the search

, a status

indicating a successful match will be shown.

The object type and label

are also displayed:

In case the code value was not found in the system, a fail status will be shown:

There are two options available:

• Quick View

• Locate

A quick view will display a popup with object metadata:

Locate function will attempt to display the object in either a tree view or a list view,

depending on the class of the object and its availability (some object types might be available only in the list view)

Supported formats

Scan function support variety of QR codes and barcodes:

Scanner will not recognize the following types of code:

• 1D Barcodes with only one character

• Barcodes in ITF format with fewer than six characters

• Barcodes encoded with FNC2, FNC3 or FNC4

• QR codes generated in the ECI mode
