Introduction

Scan any of the popular code formats with a device camera to lookup the object in system database.

Found object will be presented on the screen from where you can preview it for quick editing or locate in the full structure.  

Most of the QR codes and barcodes are supported (full list in the Supported Formats section below).

No specific QR codes are needed - you can reuse the ones that you already have - just make sure that the code property (e.g. a number, text, GUID)

from the code is stored on one of the metadata fields of the object. System can lookup any metadata field to match the object.

Configuration

There is no special configuration required. Scanner will read the text property from the code (it can be any text, GUID or numeric code) and it will

attempt to search for that code according to current (sv) Snabbsökning configuration. Therefore, the value present in the code should be stored as a metadata property on object. 

Please note, that if the code is not unique, that is multiple objects are matched, only the first match will be shown. 

Scanning process

To start a scan process, please select the "SCAN" function from the main dashboard:

 If prompted, please allow the application to access the camera. Access is needed to scan the code. 

Point the detection frame on the code and wait for the "vibration" that will indicate the scan is complete:

 Although the scanner is very sensitive, it might require more light in difficult lightning conditions. Please activate the "flashlight" function if needed by using the flashlight icon. 

To cancel the scan, please use the X button. 

Processing scanned code

When the code is recognized, a search panel will be shown. When the search is completed, a status will be displayed with a successful match.

In case the code value was not found in the system, a fail status will be shown:

There are two options available:

• Quick View

• Locate

A quick view will display a popup with object metadata:

Locate function will attempt to display the object in either a tree view or a list view,

depending on the class of the object and its availability (some object types might be available only in the list view)

Supported formats

Scan function support variety of QR codes and barcodes:

Scanner will not recognize the following types of code:

• 1D Barcodes with only one character

• Barcodes in ITF format with fewer than six characters

• Barcodes encoded with FNC2, FNC3 or FNC4

• QR codes generated in the ECI mode
